Happy New Year and Happy Valentine’s Day (el dia de amor y amistad, the day of love and friendship). How time flies! Had a great Christmas vacation in beautiful Fort Bragg, California with family and friends. When I got back, I hit the ground running and am just now slowing down.

Upon my return, we had a Prosthetics Clinic. Mike Beck, a certified prosthetist/orthotist from Stockton, CA, has been faithfully hosting 2-day clinics for many years, making artificial legs for disabled people in our area. Mike donates all the materials and equipment and brings a team of friends who work to fabricate the new prosthesis. I help by lining up patients. What a blessing Mike and his friends are to disabled people who otherwise would never be able to receive help to walk again. The young man on the right can now ride horses again after a terrible electrocution accident 3 years ago. His younger brother lost portions of both legs in the same accident and is now able to walk as well. Tears of joy were shed by many and once more, lives have been changed forever. ♥

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Barbara Cramblet and her friends from Trinity Lutheran Church of Anaheim Hills, CA, who designed and sewed twenty of the most beautiful children’s quilts ever seen. What a wonderful labor of love and now our little ones will be warm and comfy during rest time. May the Lord richly bless your loving efforts. ©

Thanks also go out to our staff, who so faithfully hang in there, even though there are not always funds to pay their salaries. Please partner with us so that these dedicated, loving people can get a regular paycheck. Won’t you please consider sending a monthly donation so that we can continue to impact this community of impoverished children. Send your tax-deductible donations to International Disciple Training, Inc., P.O. Box 128, Acampo, CA 95220 and designate your donation to: La Huerta Guarderia on the check memo line or include a note.
